Afghanistan’s Holy War

What we are seeing unfold in Afghanistan is a Holy War. It is a theological battle between two world views. On the one side we have a democratic republic that believes people have inherent worth (given by God) and therefore have rights that should be protected by government. On the other side we have a theocratic regime that believes they are the sword of salvation, either by death or life. In each case, their laws legislate morality. In America, we (at least used to) legislate based on the laws of the Bible. In Afghanistan they legislate based on Sharia which comes from the Quran.

Are both sets of laws the same or is one better than the other?

Just watch the news from the Middle East and tell me what you think.
