Faith, Communion and Two Roads

We begin today again talking about the president and the continuing saga of Catholic bishops that are fighting to either accept him as a flawed human or hold him to the standard of the Catholic church.

I’ve been thinking about this issue and I have a few more thoughts so today we are going to talk more theologically and then get to the practical application not only for the President, but for any follower of Jesus.

So this is ultimately not about the fight of the President and the Bishops and the Catholic church, this is about whether you, yes YOU actually follow Jesus. Jesus wants you to be in his kingdom, but you have to make that choice and continue to make that choice.

You don’t get to choose your own religion. You only get to choose to follow Jesus, or not. This idea of liberal Catholic or liberal Christian, or pluralist believer is just, plain, wrong. There is no such thing. You are either on the hard and narrow path, or you are with everyone else, unfortunately headed to destruction. I don’t want you to head that way. God doesn’t want you to head that way. That is why he sent Jesus. That is why we have the Bible in every possible translation and on every smart phone in the world. But you have to choose to get over yourself and let God be God.

Keep the faith.

They always want fewer people!

Why does the left always want to have fewer people on this earth?

They consistently vote for and propose and fight for measures that remove people from the planet. My value, and this is based on Biblical value, is to allow the most people the best life possible. God has created every human soul unique and valuable.

Today we look at some stories about the left’s assault on, well, people.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. Jesus in John 10:10

The Road to Hell

Jesus says, “I am the vine and you are the branches.” We are made to be connected to Jesus and our identity is an outgrowth of God as we are made in the image of God. The world continues to tell you that you should just ‘be yourself,’ but there is no discussion of how to do this or where this road might lead. Whether he meant to or not, today we are going to talk about a rapper that shows us where the road of ‘self’ actually leads.

Jesus says in John 15: “I am the vine and you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

In Christ, you become your true self, free and alive, as a producing vine on the branch because you no longer live for yourself, but you live for the love of God. That is a higher value than you could ever achieve on your own.

We need Jesus to show us how to live in this freedom, unfortunately our relentless pursuit of self only leads to being a slave to our own base desires.

Are Fathers Even Necessary?!?

Happy Father’s Day!

First of all, we thank you and love all you fathers out there for all you do!

We would not be here without you and you are worth celebrating! Unfortunately, there are those in this culture who do not feel the same. Today we are going to look at why the culture hates fathers and wants, more than anything, to get rid of them.

Thanks for choosing ChurchPublic!

How can you protect yourself from evil?

Evil can be blatant or really subtle. Often it is the subtle evil that is the most dangerous.

This world is telling you that you are perfect just the way you are, but God just doesn’t see you that way. However, the really good news is that Jesus takes your brokenness and makes you perfect. You can’t be good enough on your own, and you don’t need to be. That is what Jesus does for you.

The armor of God can help you withstand the evils of this world and the lies that come with it.

Do you know your rights?

Do you know your rights?

Do you know where rights come from?

Does the government give you rights or is there something bigger than government?

Without clarity on rights it is impossible to have liberty and justice for all!

The question I have today is, did Newton invent gravity?

Well, of course not. He observed what countless people before and after him knew, if something goes up it must go down and there is a natural law that causes this to occur.
Our rights as humans come from a similar law.
We did not invent them. We simply observed them, either in nature or through the revelation of God through his Word, and then, in certain places like America, we codified these rights into documents so we would not forget them.

Now we are in the age of rights, human rights. Everything is a right these days. Not just that which was revealed in the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution, or codified in the Bill of Rights, but everything. Healthcare, school, wages, sports.

Can EVERYTHING really be a right? Can all rights really come from Nature and Nature’s God as Jefferson wrote in the opening paragraph of the Declaration? This ‘nature’ which Jefferson refers is in fact a reference to the laws of Scripture revealed in nature. Watch the video to hear more!

Leave my kids ALONE!

The corporations, the kids channels, the toy companies, the cereal companies just won’t leave my kids alone. They seem to think they know better than I do about how to parent my kids. Sorry, no, my responsibility is to protect my children from  ideas and ideologies, especially sexual ones, that they are not mature enough for yet. These cartoons are aimed at little kids.

Parents, you need to know what your kids are watching and guard their hearts and minds.

Here’s the verse:

Ephesians 6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

The first part of the verse is to remind fathers to be kind and gentle with their children not giving rules just for the sake of rules, but the second part of the verse talks about ‘bringing up children’ in the training and instruction of the Lord. Paul is talking to fathers here, but the principle applies to mothers as well in training and teaching children.

Bringing up children is about setting a clear example for how they are to live but for parents it is also about what to protect them from. Children should not be subject to things beyond their maturity level, but more and more this culture is insistent that children, YOUNG children, must know about gender theory and LGBTQAAIP+ ideology. They are insistent that this is the way towards a utopian society and the parents, the ones who want to protect the children, are the ones in the way of advancing this goal.

How to be content, no matter what.

Contentment seems like an impossible thing but is it? Can we be ok with our circumstances no matter what they are? Today we are looking at Paul, his suffering and his contentment to see if we can learn anything about how we can live in this crazy, messed up world!

Worrying about everything can wreck our lives. Some of our worries, like Paul’s, are real, and some are just our perception of reality, but in either case, a life weighed down by worry is not really living.

I pledge allegiance to the flag,

But I’m just not sure which one…

The American flag represents the country and the values therein. To put another flag up with the American flag at a US Embassy, is to give the full weight of the country of America and all of its values. This says the additional flag is of the same value as our liberty. If you post another flag on the same pole or next to the American flag, you are saying, America, the country, and the American people stand for this.

In the past couple weeks we have seen PRIDE and BLM flags at United States embassies across the globe. In fact,  Sec of State Blinken in the Biden administration has given approval for PRIDE flags to be flown on the same flagpole as the American flag.

How are we supposed to handle this?

Et Tu, Lego?

Toys, cartoons and breakfast food, is nothing sacred?

They are targeting our children and using kids to do it.

This is not about tolerance, this is not about acceptance, this is not about equity or equality or whatever. This is about destroying the family. When you remake the family outside of the natural order, not only the Biblical order, but the even the biological order, you don’t create something new, you destroy the family.

A family is a man and woman producing a child. Period. That’s what it is. That is what is has been for almost all of human history. That is because, naturally, a man and woman create a child and thereby propagate the human race. Within the context of marriage, the family thrives and passes down morality, ritual, and values and thereby holds up the very fabric of society. When you change the very definition of family or combine genders or something else, you don’t create something new, you have destroyed the family, biologically, not to mention spiritually.

We should protect our kids. We should not teach them to be sexual before they are mature enough for that. We should teach them appropriate virtues. Just as a reminder, pride is NOT a virtue. In the Bible, pride is one of the 7 deadly sins. Pride goes before a fall, among other things.

Even outside the Bible, in Greek writing, hubris, or pride, leads to downfall. In Shakespeare, pride destroys character after character. You can go through author after author. We have known this for a long time, but we ignore it because we want to be our own god, we want to be in charge so no one else can tell us if we are right or wrong.
